Judge

Judge Bismashunah of the baelites, keeper of the holy law.

The god-king may have departed to heaven centuries ago, but the state He left behind is as strong as ever. One of His many gifts to mankind was a code of law that countless other cultures have imitated since. Although His many more or less godly progeny still act as lesser provincial kings, none of them are above the Word.

The judges' neverending task is to travel the massive kingdom and make sure all keep to the law. Judges respond directly to the Mouth of God, meaning their authority can greatly expand when the situation demands it, and they were known to depose kings and command armies on several occasions.
